The Toughbook CF-29 is the fully rugged laptop that made the Toughbook name: a sealed magnesium-alloy case with a carry handle, a 13.3" screen, and the serial and parallel ports older equipment still depends on. Panasonic stopped making it years ago, and we no longer stock it online, but we can sometimes source units and we sell its successors refurbished.

Most CF-29s still in service run one legacy program over a serial port. The Toughbook CF-30 is the closest match: the same fully rugged design and carry handle, true serial, Windows XP or 7, and a Core 2 Duo that is several times faster. If your software runs on Windows 10, the Toughbook CF-31 adds a Core i5, up to 16GB of RAM and a touchscreen.
